No it does not diminish quickly. My Sub C is 8 years old. Mostly kept inside genuine rolex pouch. Still has the same lume performance since new. No mark, dirt or dot on any of the lumes under magnification. Watch is perfect. I was thinking to sell it to fund for a Daytona. When it was first introduced, Rolex fitted the reference 16610 with a black glossy dial and used tritium for the lume (lume is what makes your watch glow in the dark).
