I have vintage canvas LV's from the 80's that have perfect condition canvas with no cracks or chipping. Has anyone else encountered this with their neverfull and successfully gotten their bag repaired or replaced by LV when told initially the wear and tear excuse?
To prevent canvas cracking (which is pretty rare imo) just store the bags correctly, stuffed, out of box, away from heat, in a temp controlled environment. The leather is really what needs to be conditioned so it doesn't crack. As for LV refusing to repair bags with damaged canvas, I found this to be untrue myself. They actually accepted my Speedy for a zipper replacement and it wasn't an issue at all. As for the holes in the corner, nobody notices them at all unless you point them out.
It looks so much nicer with your leather strap - I wish they'd just given us that one instead of the other. I don't have mine yet but ordered this bag with the pink canvas strap.
